Should I soak the enzyme powder before use?

We don’t recommend soaking the enzyme prior to use and have no information that suggests this is necessary.  Our suggestion is to add the enzyme to the food immediately before feeding. If you are using enzyme powder or opening the capsules then a small amount of milk can be added to the bowl to ensure no enzyme powder is left behind, this is only really necessary with dry food.

What is different about the High Strength Enzyme Powder?

high Strength Pancreatic Enzyme Powder

All of our enzyme products contain a mixture of amylase, protease and lipase for breaking down carbohydrates, proteins and fats respectively. The High Strength powder contains a higher concentration of each enzyme so less is needed with each meal. This is especially useful for bigger dogs who eat a lot of food as the amount of enzyme needed is based on the quantity of food being consumed.

How much enzyme do I need to use?

There is no exact dosage as all animals are different and have different needs. The enzymes break down the food so we know that the more food your pet eats, the more enzyme will be needed. As a starting point we recommend 1-2 capsules or 0.5-1g of powder for every 100g of food. When you find an amount that works you can start to slowly reduce the quantity until you find the perfect amount for your pet. Be aware that too much enzyme can give the same effect as too little so a very high amount might give the impression that it’s not working, it’s actually just causing an upset stomach though.
