B12 Intrinsic Factor Capsules contain:

Vitamin B12 (methylcobalamin)
Intrinsic Factor

When should you get your pet’s B12 levels checked?

Vitamin B12 is unusual in that it can’t be directly absorbed through the digestive system. It first needs to bind to a protein, intrinsic factor (IF). When IF is absent, or not produced in sufficient amounts, the vitamin will pass straight through the gut causing the vitamin B12 levels to gradually decrease. When IF is not present, B12 has to be injected directly into the blood stream because usual B12 supplements do not contain IF.
